Alex Izmailov is a comprehensive, fee-based financial planner who began his career in the financial services industry in 2006. He started as a financial advisor and worked at multiple firms which tailored to a wide variety of clients with unique situations. He has experience with all phases of comprehensive financial planning including customized financial plan design, investment planning, retirement and income planning, as well as implementing tax reduction strategies for high net worth clients and business owners.
Alex’s approach to planning centers on using a tailored approach to identifying any gaps in a client’s existing plans and making recommendations designed to guide clients throughout all phases of their life, helping them accomplish their goals and stay on track leading up to and during retirement. In developing investment planning strategies, Alex and his team utilize risk tolerance assessment, proper asset allocation, category specific tactical and passive management, efficiency frontier, and modern portfolio theory. Alex and his team also advise clients on proper risk management strategies to ensure stability for life’s unforeseen events.
Alex joined Insight Wealth Strategies in 2013 as an Investment Support Specialist supporting clients for 7 financial planners. In 2014 he was promoted to Director of Client Services, leading a 5 person team that supports a group that has grown to 9 financial planners. Alex also became a key member of the Insight Investment Committee which researches and implements the investment, estate, retirement, and tax reduction strategies available to our clients. He has been instrumental in providing objective analysis for our clients regarding their long-term care, disability, and life insurance needs. As Director, he has stream-lined parts of the business that have been essential in facilitating the growth and expansion of Insight Wealth Strategies.
Alex received his B.A. in Business Management Economics with a minor in Accounting from University of California, Santa Cruz. He has previously passed his Series 6, 7, 63 & 66 registrations and his life and health insurance licenses. Alex lives in Martinez with his wife Irine, daughter Lorelai, and their two dogs. Alex enjoys playing kayak polo and helps with mentoring and coaching Berkeley’s youth club and beginner players.
